Description
The Big Woods is based on a true story. Willie Meyer, a Minnesota farmer, becomes Corporal W.L.T. Meyer, Union Army, Eighth Minnesota Infantry and his involvement in the Indians Wars and the Civil War. W.L.T. is frustrated as he is systematically isolated from Louisa, the woman he loves. Locations in this book include the prairies of Minnesota, Fort Snelling, Minn., Dakota Territory, the Battle of Killdeer Mountains, N.D., and Yellowstone River in Eastern Montana.
